1983 4001-S features include: Cresting wave shaped headstock, Grover wavy Imperial tuners with chrome bushings, raised logo on plastic truss rod cover (plexiglass on left handed models), pearloid dot fret markers, glued in neck, 20 frets, no binding, four pole neck pickup, four pole bridge pickup including cover and chrome surround, black pickguard, black heptagonal shaped knobs with words on silver tops, 3 way pickup toggle switch, chrome bridge assembly including mutes, mono input jack plate, black case with black interior.
