1976 4001-S features: Cresting wave shaped headstock, Kluson riveted tuners with phillips head screws, black plastic bushings and shims under the tuner plates, raised logo on plastic truss rod cover (plexiglass on left handed models), dual truss rods, glued in 20 fret neck with skunk stripe, dot fret markers, no binding, four pole neck pickup, four pole bridge pickup including cover and chrome surround, white plastic pickguard, four black heptagonal knobs, CTS potentiometers, plastic wiring in control cavity, 3 way pickup toggle switch, yellow capacitors, chrome bridge assembly including mutes, mono input jack, pots cavity pencil marking, black case.
